About this Blog

This Blog contains Commentaries, Information and Notes on Siva Temples (mostly in Tamil Nadu) written by the late Mr S Sivagurunathan (M.A., Dip-in-Ed). Since most of these hand-written notes were prepared during his last few years (approx 1996-1999), from his memories of visiting most of these Temples many years earlier, it is possible that some information may be inaccurate and/or out-dated.

It was his humble desire that they be printed into publications, especially the information on Siva Temples and Saiva Saints (சைவ நாயன்மார்கள்), for the benefit of those wanting to know about them. He passed away close to the completion of his Projects. That is why some of the Temples and Saints don’t have any 'linked' information.

It was hoped that a few of his associates with adequate knowledge in these subjects, would put the hand-written notes together and in order, proof-read and complete the Projects. However, the Manuscripts went missing in that process. Miraculously they were retrieved recently (2012), after missing for more than 10 years. All his Manuscripts thus retrieved, are being compiled on these Blogs, as they are, without any change.
